About the Portland Snooker Club
Since the opening, the Club has gone from strength to strength, becoming the venue for Cumbria County Snooker, Darts, and Pool, understandable with a combined total of 23 Tables, and 11 Dart boards, two of which are on stage.
The Portland Snooker club is open from 11 am to 11 pm, seven days a week, but is open for under 18's to play snooker from 9 am to 12 pm on weekends and school holidays. A daily pass for Under 18's costs only £1.00.
The Portland Club is proud to have 6 Teams in the 'Carlisle Club & Orme' Snooker League, 4 Teams in the 'Carlisle Club & Orme' Billiards League, 3 teams in the Carlisle City Pool league, and teams in the darts league.
Yearly memberships (ending 31st October yearly) at the Portland Snooker Club are available at the following prices:-
- New Member £ 15.00
- Existing Member £ 10.00
- Team Member £ 5.00
- Student Member (must produce NSU card) £ 5.00
- Corporate Member (4 or more in group, same organisation) £ 7.50
Members of the Portland Snooker Club, experience the luxury of comfortable, well designed playing areas, whatever the game. Should they
choose to relax in the well stocked bar area, a vast range of reasonably priced
non alcoholic and alcoholic beverages are for sale, including Thwaites,
Carling, Harp and Warsteiner and now selling bomber real ale, 4.4%vol! We also
have Carlsberg, Stella, Budweiser and Becks at £1.50 Bottle, with
double spirits at £2.50 (35ml Measures not the standard pubs 25ml
measure)
A range of snacks are available, including freshly made sandwiches, crisps, nuts, and chocolate.
Members can also relax and watch 'Satellite TV' on a digital big screen television.

The Portland Club is also available for Buffets and Functions and
3 - 300 people can be catered for. We welcome Charity Nights, Functions,
Office Parties, Sports Evenings and Poker Events.
The room hire* is free, we charge
only for the food (from £ 2.50 per head), and any bar costs which are 'pay as you go'
*As
the Portland club is a members club, functions cannot be private, but can be in a separate area
